Last updated: May 2026
Purpose and scope
These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the MEA (My Electronic Archiver) service, an electronic archiving system with probative value, published by MEA. Accessing the service constitutes unconditional acceptance of these Terms. Any use contrary to these Terms may result in suspension or termination of the account.
Access to the service
Access to the MEA service is reserved for duly registered legal entities or individuals. The user is responsible for the confidentiality of their credentials and for all actions performed from their account. Any unauthorised access must be reported immediately via the website's contact form.
Permitted use
The service is provided for professional electronic archiving purposes. The following are prohibited: • Archiving unlawful content or content that infringes third-party rights. • Attempting to circumvent security mechanisms. • Using the service for undeclared mass processing of third-party personal data. • Reselling or sub-licensing access to the service without prior written authorisation.
Availability
MEA strives to keep the service available 24/7, subject to planned maintenance operations (notified with a minimum 48-hour notice) and force majeure events. No contractual availability guarantee (SLA) is provided under the free plan.
Intellectual property
The MEA software, its documentation and its interfaces are the exclusive property of MEA. Use of the service does not entail any transfer of intellectual property. Data archived by the user remains their exclusive property.
Limitation of liability
MEA shall not be held liable for indirect damages (data loss, loss of profit) resulting from the use or unavailability of the service. The total liability of MEA is limited, in any event, to the amounts actually paid by the user during the preceding 12 months.
Termination
The user may terminate their account at any time from the administration interface. Data is retained for 30 days after termination, then securely deleted. A full data export may be requested before deletion.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by French law. Any dispute relating to their interpretation or performance shall be submitted to the competent courts, unless otherwise required by law.
